Dining at Glin Castle
As a member of the prestigious Blue Book, the definitive gastronomic guide to eating and staying in Ireland, dining at Glin Castle will be a highlight of your stay. The talented chef and his team cook to the highest standards. Menus are carefully planned with herbs and vegetables organically grown in the castle’s own walled vegetable garden. The dining room seats forty guests. Its walls are hung with imposing family portraits, lit by candles twinkling in tall silver candelabra. The romantic view from the bay window across the river Shannon’s estuary, to the hills of county Clare is breathtaking.
The professional catering kitchen
We take our food pretty seriously at Glin Castle and use as much local and seasonal produce as possible so you and your guests can get a real taste of Ireland and the west. The professional catering kitchen can provide for up to 85 people.
Irish Family Kitchen with Aga
Glin Castle also has a second family kitchen on the grounds. This kitchen is filled with Irish country furniture and an Aga, offering a wonderful intimate atmosphere for our guests. Dining at Glin Castle and our kitchens are currently available for guests attending private lettings, events and weddings.
Our food philosophy at Glin Castle is simple; tasty, seasonal and fresh local produce. In our 19th century walled garden, espaliered fruit trees border the asparagus and artichoke beds. Any produce not grown on our grounds, is sourced from the best local producers including fish from Sealyons in Carrigaholt, a small fishing village in County Clare. Our meat is sourced from the best local butchers and our award-winning farmhouse cheese is made by outstanding small local producer Jim O’Brien.
